Fantastic Stay at Casa Joy

We’ve stayed at Casa Joy in Carvoeiro for two years in a row, and it continues to impress. This year, we booked directly with Ray, who was extremely helpful, calling us beforehand to go over access details and even leaving a welcome pack of essentials.

The villa is ideal for large families, with plenty of space and a great-sized pool for our group of 12. The pool table was a hit with the kids in the evenings. All the bedrooms are similarly sized and equipped with air conditioning, so everyone is comfortable.

The location is perfect – just a 10-15 minute stroll downhill to town and a local shop with baked goods only 5 minutes away. Ray also suggested some great new restaurants to try. We’re already planning our return to Casa Joy!

Brilliant, fantastic family holiday

This has been the smoothest & seamless booking of a holiday we have ever had. From the initial booking with Ray to the Checkout of the Villa has been perfect. Ray & his Team have provided everything we needed to know as well as a comprehensive list of great restaurants & bars that Ray personally recommended. In fact, Ray actually booked 2 special meals for us during our stay at 2 of these restaurants!

Ray’s Villa is fantastic, so luxurious, spacious & extremely well equipped, we wanted for nothing. The pool was enjoyed everyday by all of us especially our 4 young grandchildren, who were in it from early morning till early evening.

Myself & my wife have enjoyed many holidays in Carvoeiro, but this last one has topped them all. Such a lovely small town with a very intimate beach & many fine eating & drinking venues to enjoy. The Villa is superbly placed for all these places, being only a 15-minute walk to the beach.

We are already planning another 14 days stay at Ray’s outstanding Villa for 2025/26, as we all agreed we have had the most perfect holiday, and for that we all thank you Ray.

I returned to Casa Joy to celebrate my 50th birthday, the first week with a group of family/friends, and a final few days with girlfriends. The villa itself is beautiful, everything so fresh and clean, and a real home from home. The outdoor space is also spot on, with a number of terraces that are fantastic for al fresco dining – a holiday must! The games room is an added bonus, who knew so many adults could be so competitive!!

Having stayed at Casa Joy previously, we knew what to expect, but I have to say every single guest commented on how wonderful the villa was. A testament to you Ray, and his team.

The perfect house

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Joy. The house was perfect for us: a family with 3 children all with +1 and grandparents. Because of the 3 levels in the house, everybody had enough privacy and living space. Beautiful views and private garden.

Lovely villa with a great location

Overall communications with the owner were first rate and check in procedure was very smooth. The villa is beautifully appointed and extremely clean, luxurious and comfortable with a great location, which is easily walkable into town. The outside area was a particular highlight for family gatherings, with plenty of seating and large tables. The pool was a good size. We all had a great holiday.

Fantastic week at Casa Joy with all my family

We went to this beautiful villa in 2017 and have just got back from a fantastic week at Casa Joy with all my family, – see how they have grown) The Villa is beautiful and has everything a family would need for an enjoyable holiday. We all loved the pool. The booking of the villa was made easy by the prompt answer to any queries by Ray the owner. Ray also gave us information on bars and restaurants to visit Hope I don’t have to wait another six years to visit again!!

Absolute Dream Getaway

We travelled to Casa Joy as a large group. From the moment we booked it to when we arrived was seamless. We had clear communication and guidance from Ray who relaxed us in our first villa experience. The villa itself is amazing. It’s clean, modern and well looked after and caters for everything you require. We had a lot of young ones with us and it was perfect. All our party were extremely happy. The little town near by was so beautiful in the day with all the little shops and day time restaurants. Come night time then you had bars with decent nightlife but not too overpowering which was great.

We will definitely be returning and are already looking at dates for 2024. Highly recommended and a big thank you to Ray & his team.

“The location is perfect”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Joy. The location is perfect, only about an hour from the airport, a short walk to the beautiful Carvoeiro beach and restaurants, lovely atmosphere which hasn’t been spoilt by commercialism.

The villa, gardens and pool are stunning and secluded. The villa is high spec and the attention to detail is just perfect, no expense spared to give you a really luxurious holiday.

It’s an ideal villa and location for an incredible family holiday and I just wish that we were still there. We will definitely be returning.

We wanted to book Casa Joy as it fitted the size of our group (2 families) at the right price. It was as straightforward as that.

What followed was exceptional. The booking process was easy and we received key information from Ray well in advance of our visit. The villa itself is stunning and a great deal of care has gone into modernising it. There is so much space and the games room was very well used. The pool is a good size too. The centre of Carvoeiro is only a short walk away and is a bustling small town with a great selection of restaurants and bars. We followed Ray’s recommendations, which were spot on, especially on the last night when we ate delicious tapas overlooking the beach as the sun set. This was our first visit to Casa Joy, and we all want to return. Our only regret was that we didn’t book a second week. Maybe next time.

This property is exceptional. It is perfectly presented with everything you could need. The beds are super comfortable, you get amazing views from the balcony, and its in a fantastic location. You can be in the centre of Carvoreiro in less than 10 minutes. Some of the restaurants in Carvoreiro are as good as top London restaurants. The owner Ray provides great information including information on the town and restaurant guides.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Joy in October 2022. We were a multigenerational family of five adults and two toddlers and it suited every age group.

The villa is very spacious with a great veranda and lovely pool. It is very well appointed with a modern kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. We booked the villa on recommendation of friends who had been a number of times. We are so glad we did!

Our dream family villa holiday

We had a fabulous two week holiday, last August 2022. The villa exceeded all our expectations, it was huge and certainly enough room and more for our family of 10. We would certainly without any hesitation return to Casa Joy for another holiday. Ray was very helpful and supportive throughout our stay. The villa is within walking distance to the local town and beach. If you need a taxi there are plenty about and plenty of information in the villa during your stay. The villa is very equipped with everything you could possibly need.  The pool is spacious and seating area around the pool and on the first floor is fantastic for a large family. The whole villa is spotless and by far one of the best villas we have stayed. We hired a Chef for a special birthday treat which was amazing from start to finish. Look forward one day to returning to Casa Joy.

“We have visited this wonderful villa twice”

Once with a group of adults and again with a family group of 11 including 5 children. The whole booking process and logistics were simple and straightforward, including recommendations for transfer buses and local attractions.

The villa was immaculate, very spacious, beautifully equipped and ideally situated. There is a local shop a short walk away and the town of Carvoeira with its beach and great range of restaurants and bars is only a 15-minute walk away.

The kids loved the heated pool and there are ample seats and loungers in the garden with both shady and sunny spots.

Ray could not have done more to make our holidays perfect.

I won’t hesitate to rent the house again

We are a three-generation family from Holland celebrating our 50 years marriage, had a wonderful stay at this beautiful villa in October 2022.

The house is well equipped and well situated only walking distance from Carvoeira beach and restaurants. After booking we had a direct contact with the owner, Mr. Ray King and that gives confidence: no hidden costs and the booking was very easy. I won’t hesitate to rent the house again.

A villa holiday that you normally only dream about!

A great place to spend time with friends and family. As soon as you arrive at the villa you feel welcome and relaxed as it is just as described and more. The owners make a great effort to make your stay as perfect as possible. They love the area and give you additional information with their personal recommendations which are updated regularly.

Fantastic Villa and location in a beautiful area

We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful Villa – everything was exactly as described and exceeded our expectations. The Villa itself was huge with big airy rooms, and fabulous facilities. The Villa was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The Boys in our group loved the games room and everyone loved the Pool and the large seating areas. The Villa is based within easy walking distance of the town and the town beach.

We had excellent assistance from the owners Ray and Karen, and from the lettings company who arranged all our transport. We loved the town as well – so many fabulous places to eat! We were spoilt for choice. We particularly liked Onze, by the beach, The Wolf Bar, Tia Ilda (which has amazing views) and Medici. Also don’t leave with a trip to the Tivoli Hotel and their amazing rooftop Bar.

I would recommend this Villa and location to anyone – we loved it and hope to return

Huge villa with far-reaching views of the sea

Really big villa with plenty of space for a number of guests. Air-conditioning which is always a bonus in the summer. Lovely pool and gardens with plenty of terraced areas to sit in. Relaxing pergola area at far end of garden. Gated with space for 3 cars. Steep but easy enough walk from Carvoeiro centre with its beach and all its bars and restaurants. Well stocked kitchen. Smartly refurbished bathrooms. Very relaxing stay in a very welcoming villa.

An amazing property to celebrate a life stone landmark

The property is amazing from top to bottom, from inside to outside set in fantastic grounds and a brilliant location being a short walk to town. We had a fantastic family holiday with three generations helping to celebrate my 50th. The layout of the villa was perfectly suited to our needs and split over 3 levels with all having access to outside space. The villa is very well maintained and furnished to top standard.

Fantastic 5 Star villa

It’s very daunting finding a villa for the whole family, eight adults, six children and a baby but as soon as we walked through the doors of Casa Joy we knew we had hit the jackpot! Fantastic villa, great location, beautiful pool and garden. The children were in the the pool all day ( the big kids as well). I have no hesitation in recommending this villa. Carverio is a lovely buzzing town with plenty of restaurants. Go on book Casa Joy you will not regret it!

Fabulous villa

The villa is fabulous. The accommodation is over three floors easily providing our three families with privacy when wanted with the lounges/terraces offering plenty of room to enjoy family get togethers.The pool and gardens are lovely. The location is ideal being walking distance to Carvoeiro centre [downhill going, uphill back] and a local supermarket. An unbeatable location for the large extended family seeking a villa holiday in a lovely resort. Also the owners Karen and Ray are a delight to deal with making the entire holiday experience a joy.
